Erica Anderson, also known as @EricaAmerica, is a producer and strategist working across media and tech with a focus on culture change and lgbtquia+ representation. Erica spent nearly a decade in tech, where she helped Twitter and Google address their massive re-ordering of the global journalism community. At Google, Erica led global efforts to combat misinformation. Her work took her to Europe, Asia and South America where she partnered with regional members of the Google News Lab and local experts. In 2010, Erica joined Twitter to build the company's journalism efforts. Her work included the inaugural best practice program, Twitter for Newsrooms, and the development of satellite long codes to enable journalists to Tweet from war zones. She also worked to produce the Twitter Town Hall, where President Barack Obama posted his first Tweet.
She is currently the Executive Producer for Pivot at Vox Media. Under her, Pivot won Webby’s Business Podcast of the Year (2020) Webby’s People’s Choice Podcast of the Year (2020) and Adweek’s Thought Leadership Podcast of the Year (2019). Erica brings her knowledge and expertise to the Green House with sharp focus on contributing to productive and credible narratives that lead to real world culture change.
