JAIMIE WOO

Jaimie is a Senior Development Producer at Culture House as well as a Senior Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Facilitator at ReadySet, a high-touch consulting firm specializing in cultivating inclusive and equitable environments.

Jaimie began her career as a community organizer on economic justice campaigns, and later worked for then-Vice President Joe Biden on gender violence policy at the Obama White House. Upon leaving the Obama Administration, she served as a communications director in the U.S. House of Representatives, where she was the only female Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) to hold said title in all congressional offices throughout her tenure. Before coming to Culture House, Jaimie produced impact campaigns for entertainment entities, associate-produced Emmy-nominated short films, and supported Emmy-winning director, Sam Esmail.

In addition to serving as a script reader for The Black List, Jaimie is also a semi-finalist judge for the Austin Film Festival's Script Competition and judge for Outfest’s Screenwriting Lab. She also serves on the Boards of the Junior Hollywood Radio & Television Society (JHRTS) and Young Entertainment Activists (YEA), and is a co-author of The New York Times Best Seller, YES SHE CAN. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, hiking, and podcasting for her show, “Are You There, Universe?”.
